Abstract

The article deals with presentation of the process of formation of a new scientific discipline - economics of science (or: economics of scientific researches). The author has performed a short review of different works dealing with this problem which is followed by an attempt at formulation of the object and the area of researches. There are discussed specific features and development prospects of the newly - arising discipline.
