dc.description.abstract | The article presents the results of a survey that the Department of Labour and Social Policy
carried out in 2006 to assess problems with work-life balance as experienced by employees in the
Lodz region. The article provides the employees’ general assessment of the quality of the work-life
balance, as well as discussing the stressogenic factors in the workplace and occupational problems
disturbing employees’ work-life balance. The article also presents the effect of various factors,
such as employee’s age, sex, family situation, type of employment or firm’s profile on the worklife
