La maternidad como duelo emotivo: el alumbramiento poético en tres autoras venezolanas

Abstract

In the male perspective, the maternal figure has always been depicted and outlined through her purity and sensitivity, as the prototype of the chaste and docile perfect wife. This article, however, seeks to outline the tortuous psychosomatic journey that the female subject must undertake during and after pregnancy. Through their uncanonical poetic discourses, María Calcaño, María Auxiliadora Álvarez and Maritza Jiménez, emblematic poets of the Venezuelan lyrical tradition, desacralize the entire condition in which the pregnant woman finds herself. They not only highlight her most ruthless and wild traits, ranging from prepartum instability to postpartum fear, but also shed light on the emotional imbalance that abortion can provoke.

En la idealización masculina, la figura maternal siempre ha sido representada y delineada por su pureza y sensibilidad, como prototipo de perfecta casada casta y dócil. El presente artículo, en cambio, pretende delinear el itinerario psicosomático que el sujeto femenino tiene que emprender durante y después del embarazo. Mediante sus anticanónicos discursos poéticos, María Calcaño, María Auxiliadora Álvarez y Maritza Jiménez, poetas emblemas de la tradición lírica venezolana, desacralizan todo el estado en que se halla la mujer gestante. Ellas destacan no solo sus rasgos más despiadados y salvajes, que van de la inestabilidad pre partum al pavor post partum, sino también dan luz al desequilibrio emocional que abortar puede provocar.
