Wiejski obszar peryferyjny w koncepcjach geograficznych

Abstract

W tradycji badań geografi cznych koncepcja centrum–peryferie jest jedną z najważniejszych konstrukcji teoretycznych o licznych weryfi kacjach empirycznych. Głównym celem opracowaniu jest próba porównania sposobów przedstawień wiejskich peryferii w tradycyjnych i nowych geografi cznych koncepcjach badawczych. Przegląd najważniejszych koncepcji teoretycznych w kontekście wiejskich obszarów peryferyjnych ukazuje z jednej strony dużą różnorodność sposobów wyjaśniania struktur i procesów kształtujących ich charakter, z drugiej zaś buduje on pewne wyobrażenie o możliwościach interpretacji wiejskich peryferii w nowych, tzn. poststrukturalnych i kulturowych podejściach badawczych w geografi i człowieka

In the tradition of geographical studies the concept “core – periphery” is one of the most important theoretical constructs which has been verifi ed empirically on many occasions. Th e main objective is to attempt and compare form of occurrences of ‘peripheral rural areas’ in the traditional and a new geographical research. Overview of key theoretical concepts in the context of peripherality, on the one hand, shows a large variety of ways to explain the structures and processes that shape a character of peripheral rural areas, and, on the other hand, builds on some idea of the possibilities of interpretation of rural periphery in the new – post-structural and cultural approaches in researches of human geography.
