Streszczenie
The paper presents the main factors influencing the level of employee sickness absence and
attempts to identify the possibility of using absence management models to diagnose dysfunction
and pathology in human resource management in the organizations. Attention is paid to the consequences
of mistakes made by employers, focused on the application of penalties for excessive
absenteeism, such as abuse of sick leave or presenteeism.
