The aim of the study was to analyze (i) the impact of wastewater treatment plants and industrial plants on the pollution of the Pilica River, (ii) heavy metal loads along its continuum, and (iii) the typical pollutant patterns in wastewater and river water and the impact of their physicochemical properties. A novelty in the conducted research was the use of two different data calculation methods: Variant 1 – values below the limit of quantification (LOQ) were replaced with the LOQ/2 value, and Variant 2 – LOQ was replaced with the zero value. This database was used to analyze correlations between physicochemical factors characterizing the analyzed matrices and the concentrations of heavy metals identified in the samples.
