The article refers to a few important matters. Firstly, it presents the zombie figure in relation to the cinematic achievements of one of the most important and unappreciated reformers of American horror cinema – George Andrew Romero. Secondly, it relates to the Night of the Living Dead (1986) in order to analyse the movie and to show the way Romero uses his creatures to break the convention regarding race or otherness.
