The aim of the article is to provide a general outline of the current state of knowledge about prehistoric sites in the Rozprza area based on both archaeological excavations and surface surveys., although the authors have generally focused on the artefacts from the collections of the Archaeological and Ethnographic Museum in Łódź, with a small addition of accidental finds from the discussed area. Thus, this article is not an in-depth discussion of finds, discoveries, and archival research recently carried out by other research teams, i.e., it does not constitute a work with the rank of a full discussion on the history of settlement from prehistoric periods to the modern era. Instead, the paper briefly presents finds from sites belonging to the Stone, Bronze, and Iron Ages, as well as from the Roman Period proving the multi-phase occupation of this region in prehistoric times. The area of the Rozprza commune was, in the years 1982–1985, a part of the so-called Archaeological Survey of Poland (formerly AZP) conducted surface surveys, which resulted in the identification of a number of new archaeological sites, and the results of these studies will be presented in the paper.
