Hermeneutyka i pragmatyka ogrodu
Streszczenie
In research and also common meaning basically a notion of a garden is considered
as a historically specified representation of a style and tradition. Saving this historical
context in the present thesis author ask a question about the universal features of this
notion as well. These features are especially important considering a tradition of modernism
and the contemporary ways of creation of space. In the contemporary approach to
the problem of space there are a visible drift of confrontation between nature and culture.
This impact gives an opportunity of a renewed look on the issue of a garden.
In this paper a notion of a garden is shown in the context of hermeneutics of H. G.
Gadamer and crosscultural aesthetics of W. Welsch. This theoretical attempt let show the
universal features of a garden on the symbolic level and reveal the universal anthropological
functions of this notion. This context opens the possibility of the comparison between
different cultures and shows garden as an geometrical, sensual and cognitive pattern
of this process as well.
