dc.description.abstract | The article presents and briefly discusses the basic differences and similarities in the design, making and trade of ready-made and made-to-measure fashion in the second half of the nineteenth and early twentieth centuries. The growing textile industry allowed to develop a new type of ready-to-wear clothing. Mass production in the second half of the 19th century becomes a fact, and ready-made clothes enter the European and American market. Made-to-measure and ready-to-wear – those two different types of clothing products had many differences, but also similarities. | en |
dc.description.abstract | Artykuł omawia podstawowe różnice i podobieństwa w projektowaniu, szyciu i handlu pomiędzy klasyczną odzieżą miarową a konfekcją w drugiej połowie XIX i na początku XX wieku. | pl |
