Abstract
The article analyzes the investment activity of companies making their debut on the WSE. It has been shown that, firstly, they acquire a lot of capital, many times more than they had prior to the issue. This raises the question whether they will be able to effectively invest it. And secondly, much of the capital is invested in short-term deposits and current assets. However, investment in fixed assets is the dominant direction of investment only for companies going public during the bear market.
