Obszary funkcjonalne ośrodków regionalnych w Polsce

Abstract

Urban agglomerations of the right size are metropolitan centers. To determine the range of they influence should be used several criteria (such as demographic, functional, economic, urban, technical, social). The creation of the metropolitan area determined, above all, the appropriate institutional structure, including regional and central administration. Delimitation of functional areas, made for the purposes of economic and planning, must be carried out relevant analysis. Paramount importance has the selection of input material (essential and legitimate research objectives) and discussion on the choice of weights and their scope. It should be noted, that the delimitation of functional areas on basis a single, generally accepted tool may be prone to error. It seems necessary, that the results of the current standard of the future delimitation, were supplemented by lessons learned from complementary studies and analyzes.
