Since public bodies are expected to change both in terms of improving the quality of services, as well as efficient and effective operation. Fast pace of change means that public bodies must move towards finding new and better solutions to improve their business. Therefore go back to the innovative tools to enable them to adapt to the changes taking place both on the local, national and international levels. One of these tools is a seen as a process of self-improvement unit. The article presents self-assessment as a tool for streamlining the activities of public institutions. The paper presents the purpose and scope of self-esteem, as well as techniques and methods of its conduct.
