| dc.description.abstract | Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises (SMEs) might play an important role in market
economy on the condition that the slate policy allows them to develop their activities.
Experience of the EU countries shows that direct support of SMEs is also necessary. In
Poland SME policy (which has been included in government programmes since 1995) has
created the system of support. But SMEs still need strong government activities which among
