Socjologiczne aspekty stosunku młodych robotników do zawodu
Streszczenie
Profession, as a sociological category, produces far-reaching consequences both
in life sphere of an individual and in social life. Proper selection of profession
and formation of positive attitudes towards it is of special importance in the
socialist society. The article discusses selected problems concerning selection of
profession and shaping of attitude to the profession among young people.
Surveys conducted among pupils of senior school forms and young workers
prove that profession and its selection belong to the most important life problems.
Despite that when selecting a profession not all the interviewed possessed full
information about it, which also exerts some influence on the fact that fifty per
cent of the interviewed admit divergence between their idea of the profession and
its real features. In another survey, over a half of those learning a profession
state that a given profession was not taken into account at all as a „desirable
one”.
This situation is determined by numerous factors including among others professional advisory centres, which do not meet the expectations. Parents, friends,
and acquaintances continue to exert a decisive influence on decisions concerning
selection of a profession and obtaining information about it. Of essential importance
for the quality of information is here a profession and education background
of those providing information.
The author postulates introduction of innovations to the system of vocational
advisory services which will allow to bridge the „information gap” about professions
and combine subjective needs of young people with interests of the socialist
economy.
