Abstract

Numerous controversies, which appear in the course of the discussion on the econonic role of the capitalist state once again animated in the West, result from an indistinct distinction made between the regulative and the real aspects of this problem, one of th e most important dimensions of the analyzed problem is a controversy regard in g a dychotomy: principles of policy - discretionary activities of the state. The main role in the theoretical discussion on this dichotomy is played by a hypothesis of rational expectation a and controversial problems connected with it. These and other controversial issues account for the fact that the analyzed subject is one of the most important subjects in the contemporary economics. They carry also extremely significant implications for the pursued economic policy.
