Pop feminizm, seks i bunt. Kobiecy protest w realiach Europy Wschodniej

Abstract

In this paper I would like to present an example of Ukrainian women’s movement Femen, famous for presenting the nude protest as its brand and ideological base as well as a source of their strategy, called sextremism. In the article I try to present a context of movement’s birth in the Eastern European reality of first decade of XXI century and I attempt to retrace the paths of its past and recent development. The subject of my analysis is also the process of deconstruction and further re-construction of the idea of feminism in its classical, Western terms conducted by Femen activists. Finally, I would like to show the Femen’s way of sending the message about women’s rights that connects pop culture and feminism – so called pop feminism, which become their brandmark.

W artykule prezentuję przykład kobiecego ruchu Femen, powstałego i rozwiniętego na gruncie ukraińskim, wykorzystującego w swoich działaniach metody nagiego protestu, które stały się dla aktywistek ruchu ideologiczną podstawą i dały początek strategii nazwanej przez nie „sekstremizmem”. W artykule staram się przedstawić kontekst powstania ruchu we wschodnioeuropejskich realiach pierwszej dekady XXI wieku, a także drogi jego rozwoju i obecnej działalności. Przedmiotem mojej analizy jest także kwestia dekonstrukcji oraz rekonstrukcji przez aktywistki idei feminizmu w wersji przybyłej do Ukrainy z Zachodu oraz stworzenie przez nie i twórcze wykorzystanie podejścia łączącego popkulturę z feminizmem – tzw. pop feminizm, który stał się ich znakiem rozpoznawczym.
