The article makes a contribution to studies on effectiveness of practical teaching methods in the pro'cess of students' education. It presents the assumptions, implementation and results of a didactic experiment consiting in involving students into a full research cycle conducted twice, i.e. in academic years 1983/84 and 1984/85. Opinions of the students - participants of the experiment and experience gained by its authors point explicitly at big didactic-educational values of this teaching form. It appears that the more activity from a student a given method requires, and not only mental-theoretical but also mental-practical activity the more grow the interest and activity of students. After all, cognition ensues from practical experience and activity.
