Abstract

In this article author describes the changes in organization and functioning of school--public libraries in Poland during last 40 years (1972-2012), attempting to answer the question about the pros and cons of this type of libraries. She also presents the results of the national research conducted by the Book and Readership Institute (National Library) in 2012.
