Zastosowanie metody Social Network Analysis w badaniach społecznych

Abstract

Today, society is examined from the perspective of the vast and dynamic network structure of social actors. This approach allows for the analysis of social phenomena and processes with a completely new perspective. The method of social network analysis allows the study of various relationships forming and operating within a network society. It also allows possibility to visualize data. It allows one and to see relationships and dependencies that were not visible from an individual point of view. Results of research conducted using the method of SNA show networks of social relations as a kind of superior structure. They may take various shapes and perform different functions. Also relevant is the fact that they are governed by specific rules, which give a kind of order to social reality. Thanks to them we are able to exert a limited influence on the communities and contents passed within them.
