Abstract

The starting point of this article is the current in the scientific discourse consideration on the possibility of recovery from the crisis by the cities. Presenting a concrete example of cultural-social activity in the post-industrial Łódź, that is the business off Piotrkowska Center, I focus on the manifestations confirming the phenomenon called cities resurgence. Using the tools and concepts grounded in anthropological discourse, I try to understand the observable fact OFF Piotrkowska as the venue of the contemporary urban lifestyles. OFF Piotrkowska Center – is that a response to how the urban as part of the identification can now be seen and desire?
