A Metropolitan Tourism Region: The Example of Łódź

Abstract

The author defines the concept of a metropolitan tourism region and presents a general model showing the trends and intensity of tourism and the development of tourism space. This is followed by the setting out of a general model using the example of the metropolitan tourism region of Łódź, and describing five development phases: initial, institutional, infilling, saturation and regression.

W pracy zdefiniowano pojęcie metropolitalnego regionu turystyczno-wypoczynkowego oraz opracowano uniwersalny model tego regionu. Model ten prezentuje region w dwóch aspektach: kierunków i natężenia ruchu turystycznego 0|,az rozwoju przestrzeni turystycznej. W dalszej części pracy Przeprowadzono identyfikację tego ogólnego modelu na przykładzie turystyczno-wypoczynkowego regionu metropolitalnego Łodzi, wyróżniając pięć faz jego rozwoju: faza inicjalna, instytucjonalna, wypełniania, nasycenia i regresji.
