Rodzina przyszłości w perspektywie demograficznej
Abstract
Contemporary Polish family is changing rapidly and the changes could be observed at many dimensions. One of them is demographic dimension. In the last decades there are more and more multigenerational families and – as a consequence – a process of verticalization of family ties with decrease in number of members of family generations. Family is transformed into multigenerational structure, linking more homogenous – in terms of age – individuals belonging to the same generations. The individuals coexist longer and longer, what affects traditional relations between them. In the same time the family transform into incomplete institution due to increase in frequency of non-traditional family forms – informal unions, same-sex unions, lonely maternity, divorces, remarriages, reconstructed families. The changes could be observed in case an economic dimension of the family – household. The size of the household is decreasing, with more complicated economic relation of its inhabitants The observed changes in demographic characteristics of family life should be treated as a starting point to formulate questions about the future of the family. The paper is focused at answer to the mentioned above question.
