dc.description.abstract | Novelization is a novel based on the film script and published on a date
close to the date of the opening night. The sole purpose of such a product
is to promote movie and to earn more money in a way planned according
to contemporary model of film production. Is fits perfectly the pop culture
world described in terms of merchandising, revival, cover, reboot, sequel
or universe. However, in spite of its commercial and appropriate character,
novelization also belongs to the contemporary fan culture/remix culture
that has a powerful subversive potential. It shows the way novelizations
function within pop culture – either created on big studios’ command or
