Potęga stanowi jeden z ciekawszych zagadnień w naukach o polityce. Dla badacza jest to problem niezwykle złożony z uwagi na trudności znaczeniowe. Wynika to z różnego określenia w różnych teoriach stosunków międzynarodowych, czym jest potęga i w jaki sposób wpływa na kształtowanie ładu międzynarodowego oraz dokonuje uporządkowania elementów potęgi zarówno materialnej, jak i niematerialnej. For the researcher it is a very complex problem because of the semantic difficulties. Various theories of international relations have different understanding of what power is and how it shapes the international order. The elements of power are not only the resources of influence but first of all they are the factors of international influence.
