"Synteza neoklasyczna” Franco Modiglianiego. Prezentacja i próba oceny
Abstract
The article is an attempt at analysis and evaluation of one of the versions of "neoclassical synthesis" formulated in the forties of the present
century by F.Modigliani - a recent Nobel Prize winner. It tries to reconcile
the neoclassical and keynesian theories of employment treating the latter as a peculiar case of the neoclassical theory. This finds its expression in the treatment of the keynesian thesis about equilibrium of underemployment as a result of the assumption about rigid nominal wages and, thu s, the assumption being a peculiar case of a more general assumption of neoclassicists since it takes in to account flexible wages. The performed ana lyse s prove th a t Modigliani's concept is not a successful at tempt at synthesis. In fact, it is a concept with neoclassical undertones (it supports neoclassicists' thesis about equilibrium in conditions of fullemployment with flexible wages),which unjustly reduces the entir "keynesian revolution" to a postulate of rigid nominal wages.
