Abstract

Library of the University of Lodz through its enlargement had a chance to become a library where readers have direct access to the collections. Its modern organizational, technological and architectural solutions were presented in the drafts. Thanks to them, two buildings were combined into one high-tech element. What is more the number and quality of services were increased. There is no doubt that the new library space is clearly aimed at the reader. Reader’s needs determine the direction of changes.
