Abstract
The article discusses two basic problems connected with
worker professions. The first of them concerns the role of profession
and other co-existing factors (qualification, education
etc.) structurslizing the working-class. The other problem is
connected with the role and rank of profession(against the background
of other factors: job character, education, qualifications,
branch differences) as a factor distinguishing workers
from other social categories. While generalizing conclusions provided
by analysis of the empirical material one con say that the
model of the worker as о hard working, unqualified employee begins
to change slowly and that especially due to undertaking of
manual work by people completing secondary vocational schools.
Simultaneously workers point out that division within the work*-
ing class proceeds in accordance with branch systems, level of
qualifications or differences in ethical and moral characteristics
of employees.
