Niepełnosprawny jako sportowiec

Abstract

Rozdział dotyczy zagadnienia sportu osób niepełnosprawnych, kładąc główne akcenty na rolę ich aktywności fizycznej w procesie aktywizacji, integracji i społecznej inkluzji. Przede wszystkim staram się pokazać specyfikę sportu osób niepełnosprawnych oraz zarysować genezę i kierunki rozwoju sportu osób niepełnosprawnych w Polsce i na świecie. W dalszej części rozdziału koncentruję się na zaprezentowaniu uwarunkowań instytucjonalno-strukturalnych dotyczących uprawiania sportu przez osoby niepełnosprawne, a także odnoszę się do bezpośrednich doświadczeń tej kategorii osób stanowiących ilustrację podejmowanych przeze mnie zagadnień. Zamykającą częścią niniejszego opracowania są konkluzje odnoszące się do diagnozy obecnej sytuacji osób niepełnosprawnych uprawiających sport oraz rekomendacje zmian w zakresie prowadzonej wobec nich polityki państwa.

The chapter refers to the notion of sport of persons with disabilities,putting the main stress on the role of their physical involvement in theprocess of activation, integration and social inclusion. I first of all try topresent specificity of sport of the disabled, and outline a genesis anddirections for development of sport of the disabled in Poland and aroundthe world. In further part of the chapter I will focus on demonstrationof institutional and structural circumstances related to sport practicingby the disabled. I will also refer to direct experiences of this categoryof persons, posing an illustration to the raised notions. The closing partof this paper is posed by conclusions related to diagnosis of a presentsituation of the disabled practicing sport, and recommendations forchanges in state policy towards them.
