Abstract
The incidence of network services in business environment necessitated a revision of
heretofore used management methods. In consequence a virtual management concept was
developed. Moreover, for the purpose of virtual organization, new communication systems have
been worked adds up with their advantages but also threats. To fight those threats it is necessary to
get acquainted with a specific category of emotional intelligence called "virtual emotional
intelligence". Through a review of existing in literature definitions on EQ (Emotional Quality,
Emotional Intelligence Quotient) – which encompasses intrapersonal, interpersonal and
praxeological competences – this study identifies utility of those skills for the employees
emotional and cognitive process of adaptation to conditions specific for virtual distance work.
