Sublimicyzm i idolatria w przekładach psalmów na język polski, angielski i szwedzki. Kognitywne parametry stylu
Streszczenie
“Sublimicism” and idolatry in the translations of the Psalms into Polish, English and Swedish. Cognitive parameters of style
e article is based on polyglotic analysis of dozens of translations into Polish, English and Swedish Psalms of 139 and 75. Two case studies of ver- ses 139: 6 and 75: 4-5 give the basis for re ection on how the phenomena mentioned in the title, namely sublimicism and idolatry, are realized in trans- lation in the languages and cultures distant from the Hebrew culture. First, the author describes the problems associated with sublimicism in Psalm 139, then the idolatry in the Psalms 115 and 75. As a result, the analysis of dozens of contexts of the listed psalms derive conclusions on the style and values of translations, which should be described not only in terms of delity to the original or to what extend they are brought up to date. Important compo- nents in culture are cognitive domains referred to by the biblical text. Num- ber of the domains referred in the text and their consistency are the parame- ters useful for assessing the style and values of translation.
