Pałac Raczyńskich w Złotym Potoku. Źródła do dziejów architektury i wyposażenia

Abstract

The palace in Złoty Potok is a part of a residential complex situated in the valley of the River Wiercica in the Krakowska-Częstochowska Upland. A position of the village was sanctioned by its location near the medieval trade route from Great Poland to Silesia. Another factor influencing development of the region was excellent landscape value. A landscape park created in the 19th century and later on a nature reserve contributed to increased interest in both a district and a park complex. While a palace itself remained underestimated. The best recognized phase is the times of the Krasińskis, including a short stay of a national poet. While the most enigmatic period is associated with activity of the Raczyńskis, during which the body of the building was given its present character. This sketch reveals the character of preserved archive records documenting successive phases of making use of the building, transforming its body and interior design – being the introduction to the research in the history of the residence in Złoty Potok. Moreover, information about the appearance of the rooms is provided by elements of interior design exhibited, inter alia, in the Museum of Zygmunt Krasiński, neighbouring with the palace. In the palace there are original stoves, chandeliers and single pieces of furniture. A particularly representative part is oaken stairs, situated right opposite the entrance, in the central part of the body, and linking the basement with the piano nobile.
