Abstract

Niniejszy artykuł prezentuje biografie Alicji i Marii Rosenblatt, dwóch sióstr związanych ze światem sztuki, żyjących na przełomie XIX i XX wieku. Pomimo, że obrały rożne ścieżki życiowe i kariery, ich losy dobrze ilustrują problematykę emancypacji kobiet i jej społeczny odbiór na początku ubiegłego stulecia. Zarówno Alicja, jak i Maria miały duży wkład w rozwój współczesnej kultury, jednak nie jest on szerzej znany.

This article presents biographies of Alicia and Maria Rosenblatt, two sisters connected with the world of art, lived at the turn of the XIX and XX century. They both choosed differebt life and career paths, but their lives shows question and problems of women emancipation and its social perception in the beginning of previous century. Alicja and Maria had a major contribution in the development of contemporary culture, but it is not well known.
