Profesor Michał Seweryński – przewodniczący Komisji Kodyfikacyjnej Prawa Pracy w latach 2003–2006

Abstract

Professor Michał Seweryński fulfilled many honorable and prestigious positions. Particularly significant was chairing the Labour Law Codification Commission (2003–2006), which represented a recognition of his great scientific authority in the field of labour law and exceptional organizational skills. The aim of the Codification Commission was to prepare two draft laws: the Labour Code (governing individual labour relations) and the Code of Collective Labour Law. Unfortunately both projects have not been subjected to formally legislative procedure. However, the projects had a significant impact on the social partners in the field of legal solutions of labor law and the need to make their changes as a result of the transformation of socio-economic and political conditions in Poland. It should also be noted that Prof. M. Seweryński personally drafted the justifications for these two draft codes that were approved by the members of the Commission in almost unchanged form. Projects of both codes were first published on the websites of the Ministry of Labour and Social Policy (in 2008), and subsequently published in Kodeks pracy. Zbiorowy kodeks pracy.
