Zmarginalizowana młodość. Przyczyny zjawiska i możliwości przeciwdziałania w województwie lubelskim
Streszczenie
Social exclusion is a phenomenon that reached fearful scale in contemporary Poland. The crucial
issue is the answer to the question how to stop this process and protect the vulnerable groups.
The undertaken analysis is aimed at presenting the level of effects of social exclusion among children
and youth in the Lublin region. The reasons of those threats and also their character and scale
are going to be presented. The possibilities of solutions and changes in the local social policy
to counteract the effects of social exclusion, and in the long run to ensure the basis for the stable
and coherent social structure in the Lublin region will be shown. Another problem will be emphasized that results from rising marginalization of young people the lack of local identity and no perspectives to setting their professional career in home localities. There is a real threat that young people will leave their localities in the direction of big cities in Poland or emigrate to Western European countries. Pilot survey showed that over half of the youth under study pays attention to the lack of chances for development in their home localities and lack of faith in the change of this situation, what on one hand, proves the “unattractiveness” of the places where the young respondents live, and on the other hand , we can clearly notice their “civil passiveness”. The question refers to the actions that need to be undertaken in order to cause that young inhabitants may feel belonging and responsibility for their “ small native lands”.
