Abstract
In our times attention is paid to the issue of broadening of an individual’s responsibility for one’s and another’s health. It influences on growth of meaning of health education. Interpersonal relationships are one of the most important parts of health learning. Especially there are important family and informal groups relationships. The aim of this paper is describing health learning areas in the relationship between generations. It is done on base of literature analysis. There are three areas of health learning in the relationship between generations – based on conception of M. Mead – learning from elders, learning from peers and learning from youngsters. The first area of health learning is the broadest represented in the literature. It mostly includes the shaping of patterns of health behavior in family throughout social and associative learning. In the second area the influence of peers on process of learning of health behavior is the most often understood in the context of health education at school, so it concerns youth and children. However, there is lack of papers about peers’ influence but in the context of adult and elder people. In the third area of health learning a small number of papers can be observed. Although the role of family is noticed – including younger generations for shaping pro-health behavior of elders – it still seems to be not well researched area abounding with many questions.
