Zasobooszczędne gospodarowanie w jednostkach samorządu terytorialnego
Streszczenie
A motto known from the conference in Rio de Janeiro „think globally, act locally” is not negated,
on the contrary it takes on a new meaning. The consequences of global environmental changes,
i.e. climate change, hydrological cycle disorders, decline in biodiversity, limited access to environmental
services are particularly felt locally and regionally. Necessary is therefore a comprehensive
and multi-faceted activity of local and regional decision-makers and all users of the environment for
the benefit of: resource-efficient and innovative management of the territory with the use of modern
tools and methods. Actions limiting the impact of local communities on the state and quality of
the environment and the exploration and implementation of adaptive solutions to adverse environmental
changes are necessary. Territories and their users must be actively involved in the process of
building ecologically safe living conditions and running economic and social activities.
„Resource-efficient management in territorial units” focuses on the problems of rational and
efficient use of the territories’ resources, including the protection of natural potential (especially
biodiversity), activating and supporting processes of the „green economy” through eco-innovation,
development and implementation of low-carbon economy plans and new forms of cooperation in
environmental protection, which are ecological clusters.
