Rewizja rodowodu Lili Reymonta

Abstract

Although Władysław Stanisław Reymont is a Nobel Prize winner, some of the fundamental research and studies on his work are not free from errors and misconceptions. The aim of this article is to re-establish the origins of Reymont’s work, Lili, which has been rife with misconceptions until now. Contrary to scholars’ position, the novella was not written under the influence of his relationship with the writer’s alleged fiancée, Antonina Szczygielska. The article analyzes the actual circumstances surrounding the work’s creation, taking into account new facts, correspondence, diary entries, and the work’s manuscript.

Mimo że Władysław Stanisław Reymont jest laureatem Nagrody Nobla, to część fundamentalnych prac badawczych i opracowań jego twórczości nie jest wolna od uchybień i błędnych rozpoznań. Celem artykułu jest ponowne ustalenie genezy utworu Reymonta zatytułowanego Lili, dotąd pełnej chybionych ustaleń. Wbrew stanowisku badaczy nowela nie została napisana pod wpływem związku z rzekomą narzeczoną pisarza Antoniną Szczygielską. W artykule przeanalizowano rzeczywiste okoliczności powstania utworu z uwzględnieniem nowych faktów, korespondencji, notatek diariuszowych oraz rękopisu utworu.
