dc.description.abstract	Nowe technologie komunikacyjno-medialne w kontekście niepełnosprawności są opisywane zarówno jako szansa na szersze włączenie osób z niepełnosprawnościami do pełnego uczestnictwa w życiu społecznym, jak i jako nowa przestrzeń wykluczenia. Z jednej strony pozwalają one na zniwelowanie utrudnień w dostępie do informacji oraz umożliwiają realizację wielu aktywności w przestrzeni wirtualnej wolnej od barier o charakterze fizycznym. Z drugiej strony ograniczenia technologiczne w dostępie do internetu i jego zawartości oraz brak odpowiednich kompetencji w korzystaniu z zasobów sieci przyczyniają się do marginalizacji osób z niepełnosprawnościami we współczesnych społeczeństwach. Tym samym technologie internetowe, pomimo tkwiącego w nich potencjału włączającego, powodują utrwalanie istniejących nierówności i wykluczenia osób z niepełnosprawnościami. Celem rozdziału było pokazanie sposobów badania poziomu wykluczenia cyfrowego osób z niepełnosprawnościami i pokazanie konieczności spojrzenia na kwestie dostępu i używania technologii cyfrowych przez osoby z niepełnosprawnościami w perspektywie pozwalającej na ukazanie relacji pomiędzy cechami demograficzno-społecznymi oraz psychologicznymi a dostępem do internetu i sposobami jego używania.
