| dc.description | W monografii przedstawiono kontekst polityczno-gospodarczego, w ramach którego doszło do wygłoszenia słynnego przemówienia na Harvardzie. Zarysowano również proces konkretyzacji propozycji George’a Marshalla, która podczas wystąpienia z 5 czerwca 1947 r. była koncepcją niedookreśloną i ogólną, by rok później przyjąć sformalizowany kształt kompleksowego planu politycznego i gospodarczego, skierowanego do państw Europy Zachodniej. Scharakteryzowano i prześledzono proces realizacji celów Planu Marshalla (European Recovery Program – Europejski Program Odbudowy, ERP), zwracając uwagę na ich ewolucję, zachodzącą zwłaszcza pod wpływem wojny w Korei. Była to pomoc o ogromnym znaczeniu, lecz zaspokajała tylko najpilniejsze potrzeby żywnościowe oraz związane z prowadzeniem działań militarnych. ERP okazał się inicjatywą, która odegrała rolę w stabilizacji sytuacji gospodarczej w Europie Zachodniej. Stosunkowo odległa perspektywa od czasu Planu Marshalla pozwoliła na zdystansowaną ocenę tej oryginalnej koncepcji. Priorytetem autora była zrównoważona analiza wpływu czynników ekonomicznych i politycznych, na etapie powstania, realizacji i oceny konsekwencji Planu. W ostatniej części pracy podsumowano rezultaty Planu, wskazując na sukcesy i poniesione niepowodzenia zarówno na gruncie gospodarczym, jak i politycznym. Istnieje ewidentna dysproporcja ilościowa w polskich i zagranicznych badaniach na temat ERP, dlatego książka jest istotnym uzupełnieniem prac naukowych poświęconych temu tematowi w Polsce. | pl_PL |
