Abstract

Method of estimation of the innovative potential of regions In the age, when the main factors of the development are ‘soft’ and so, di cult to capture (information, knowledge, innovation and social capital), measurement of developmental processes is one thing of essential problems and dilemmas of contemporary economics. Moreover, because of the complexity and the multidimensional character of these phenomena, as well as the problems with collecting statistical data, measurement and assessment of the innovative potential of regions are becoming a big research challenge. The paper is presenting and discussing the research methodology of the innovative potential of regions. It describes and justi es statistical measures and taxonomical methods used here.
