Dziecko niepełnosprawne – czy pełnoprawny obywatel?

Abstract

The protection of the rights of persons with disabilities is an important challenge in today’s society and the Polish state. Human rights as a citizen starts with the realization of its rights as a child. Lack of implementation of these rights and the needs of the youngest and most vulnerable citizens of the same causes that often there is little hope of these young people a decent life in the future. Given the enormity of the problems with the situation of children living in difficult conditions in this paper take into account issues related to the basic problems of the affected child. Such situations include the situation clearly disabled child and his family. The article shall subject a disabled child protection especially in the light of Convention on the Rights of the Child, focusing on the concept of dignity and empowerment in the face of children’s rights. Disability in childhood threatens exclusion from education and peer group now, and with the labor market later in life, so also in the future,especially if a child grows up in poverty. To counter this threat, it is necessary to intervene in support of children and youth and their families. Lack of family capital and investment opportunities in child makes only external support (primarily through adequate social support and adequate educational system) can stop this unfavorable trajectory of their lives in the future, a child with a disability in the future will not be reliant adults with disabilities.
