Abstract

Subreplacement fertility is nowadays common in the European countries. Populations of the majority of them have very low propensity to bear children. European governments try to affect the propensity using the so called family pollcY- The term has broader meaning, including measures to impact fertility, economic level of living, form, and duration of “families”. Using quotation-marks is ted to new approach adopted to the institution of family - not based on marital Uni°n and included multigenerational dimension. ^ The aims of the article is to define goals, principles, and target-populations of e family policy in contemporary Europe.
