Literatura etniczna i kobiety

Abstract

The purpose of this essay is to present to Polish readers of contemporary American literature the literary output of ethnic women writers, who enjoy currently unprecedented popularity in the American academia and among readers. The essay discusses the work of Native American, African American and Latina writers and gives overview of the most important social and cultural movements in minority cultures (such as Civil Rights Movement, Black Arts Movement, Black Women Literary Movement). It concludes with the analysis of their impact on the development of the American literary canon.
