Cudny, Waldemar; Sattar, Sanjukta; Barwiński, Marek
This conceptual article explores how the film sector within the creative industries con-tributes to sustainable development and the achievement of the Sustainable DevelopmentGoals (SDGs) in post-socialist and postcolonial cities. It develops a framework linkingthe creative industries to the SDGs and applies it to the film sectors of Łód ́z (Poland) andMumbai (India). The analysis shows how film production supports the environmental,social, and economic pillars of sustainability by fostering social inclusion, strengtheningurban economies, and promoting environmental responsibility. The study also highlightsthe sector’s role in advancing green production practices and raising public awarenessof sustainability issues. Overall, the analysis demonstrate that the film industry con-tributes to sustainable urban transformation, illustrating how cities can leverage theircinematic heritage to build cultural resilience, stimulate local development, and enhancesocial well-being.

<title>Escape rooms in Poland: The rise and fall of big city entertainment</title>

<description>Escape rooms in Poland: The rise and fall of big city entertainment
Stasiak, Andrzej
In the second decade of the 21st century, escape rooms became one of the primary&#13;
forms of leisure entertainment. Poland was one of Europe’s largest and most innovative&#13;
markets for this type of entertainment. However, two unpredictable events (a fatal fire and&#13;
the COVID-19 pandemic) resulted in a dramatic decline in the escape room sector. The main&#13;
aim of this study is to provide an in-depth characteristic of the development of the escape&#13;
room sector in Poland in 2014–2024, from the creation of the first room through booming&#13;
popularity to the rapid decline and crisis in recent years. The author used statistical data&#13;
obtained from the lockme.pl website, an industry report from 2018, their own research, and&#13;
the available academic and popular science publications. The conducted cause-and-effect&#13;
analysis allowed for the identification and definition of the main factors that contributed&#13;
to the escape room sector’s unprecedented development and the factors responsible for&#13;
its subsequent fall. The obtained results enabled the author to analyse and describe the&#13;
unique life cycle of the escape room sector in Poland. Furthermore, spatial analysis allowed&#13;
the author to find certain regularities in the location of this type of attraction, as well as&#13;
the course of the geographic spread and shrinkage of the analysed phenomenon (in the&#13;
territory of the country and 10 of its biggest cities). The presented results carry essential&#13;
theoretical and practical implications. They point, among other things, to the need for the&#13;
management to take paradoxical, apparently mutually contradictory actions (coopetition)&#13;
and sometimes measures that might seem completely irrational (planning responses to&#13;
unlikely threats as part of strategic crisis management).

<title>Przekształcenia krajobrazu w miejscowościach dawnych Prus Wschodnich po delimitacji granicy polsko-rosyjskiej</title>

<description>Przekształcenia krajobrazu w miejscowościach dawnych Prus Wschodnich po delimitacji granicy polsko-rosyjskiej
Majewska, Anna
The article deals with the transformation of landscape following the delimitation of a state border using the example of the contemporary Polish--Russian borderland. Changes in the material structures of the settlement network and depopulation concern, in particular, localities whose areas have been divided by the border line and those located in the immediate vicinity (within 5 km). Numerous relics of completely depopulated settlement units identified in this space are objects that stand out in the borderland landscape. Thus, they co-create the contemporary landscape identity. The article presents the results of a historical and geographical analysis, showing the distribution of rural settlement units that were liquidated or abandoned as a result of geopolitical changes related to the end of World War II. Moreover, landscape relics of depopulated localities have been identified using measurement data from airborne laser scanning. The destructed objects identified in the historical settlement are among the components of the material memory of the local landscape. They are evidence of the events and socio-political processes that took place over the last few decades in the lands of former East Prussia incorporated into Poland, in particular during the time associated with the delimitation of the current state border.

<title>Mitologizacja przestrzeni zamieszkiwania. Wymiana ludności na terytorium byłych Prus Wschodnich a percepcja i przekształcenia krajobrazu Warmii, Mazur i Powiśla</title>

<description>Mitologizacja przestrzeni zamieszkiwania. Wymiana ludności na terytorium byłych Prus Wschodnich a percepcja i przekształcenia krajobrazu Warmii, Mazur i Powiśla
Majewska, Anna
Celem artykułu jest przeglądowe omówienie narracji wytworzonych wokół&#13;
wschodniopruskiego krajobrazu, związanych z mitologizacją przestrzeni&#13;
zamieszkiwania, szczególnie w kontekście procesów destruktywnych zachodzących w&#13;
obrębie miejscowości znajdujących się we włączonej do Polski części Prus Wschodnich.&#13;
Współczesna fizjonomia krajobrazu Warmii, Mazur i Powiśla stanowi następstwo&#13;
licznych reperkusji wynikających ze zmiany przynależności politycznej obszaru. Należą&#13;
do nich m.in. przemiany dokonujące się na płaszczyźnie sposobów percypowania&#13;
przestrzeni oraz przekształceń jej warstwy semiotycznej. Uwzględnienie tych&#13;
czynników jest kluczowe m.in. w analizach krajobrazowych, w tym dotyczących&#13;
terenów opuszczonych miejscowości.; The purpose of the article is to review the narratives created around the East Prussian&#13;
landscape related to the mythologisation of the living space, especially in the context of&#13;
destructive processes occurring within the towns located in the part of East Prussia&#13;
included in Poland. Contemporary physiognomy of the landscape of Warmia, Mazury&#13;
and Powiśle is a consequence of numerous repercussions resulting from the change of the&#13;
political affiliation of the area. These include changes taking place on the plane of the&#13;
ways of perceiving space and transformations of its semiotic layer. Considering these&#13;
factors is key, among others in landscape analyzes, including those related to abandoned&#13;
towns.
