The work presents the nature and typology of the armament of the armies in question, and describes the sets of armament (so-called armature) of individual soldiers in cavalry and infantry formations. It also shows the processes of the influence of Eastern military culture on the armament of Polish troops guarding the borderlands against invasions by the Crimean Khanate, the Moldavian Principality, and the Ottoman Empire. The source material for the work consists of registers of mercenary troops and royal horsemen, extracts from royal accounts, inventories of royal castles, as well as references to armament in court records.; W niniejszej rozprawie doktorskiej pt. Uzbrojenie wojsk polskich na południowowschodnich ziemiach Królestwa Polskiego w latach 1470–1520 opisano uzbrojenie zaczepne i ochronne formacji wojsk polskich (obrony potocznej, królewskiej chorągwi nadwornej, pospolitego ruszenia, zbrojnej eskorty wozów), a także uzbrojenie najważniejszych zamków królewskich na Rusi Czerwonej i Podolu na przełomie średniowiecza i czasów nowożytnych. W pracy jest wyświetlony charakter i typologia uzbrojenia danych wojsk, a także opisano zestawy uzbrojenia (tzw. armatury) poszczególnych żołnierzy w formacjach jazdy i piechoty. Wyświetlono też procesy wpływu kultury militarnej Wschodu na uzbrojenie polskich wojsk strzeżących pogranicza od najazdów ze strony Chanatu Krymskiego, Hospodarstwa Mołdawskiego oraz Imperium Osmańskiego. Podstawą źródłową pracy są rejestry popisowe wojsk zaciężnych i królewskich dworzan konnych, wypisy z rachunków królewskich, inwentarze zamków królewskich, a także wzmianki o uzbrojeniu w materiałach sądowych.
