<title>Konstrukcje typu niedziel dwie — przejaw analogii czy rezultat wpływu obcego?</title>
<link>http://hdl.handle.net/11089/21476</link>
<description>Konstrukcje typu niedziel dwie — przejaw analogii czy rezultat wpływu obcego?
Sicińska, Katarzyna
The study focuses on combining numerals dwa, trzy and cztery with nouns, in particular the constructions like niedziel dwie, where the noun — being the subject which is counted — has the form of plural genitive. Constructions like that, contemporarily treated as incorrect, occurred already in the Old Polish language and became very common in the 16th–18th centuries. In t he 19th century, t hey were rather rare, a nd i n t he 20th and 21st centuries they have been preserved only in the area of the Eastern borderland. The reason for the occurrence of such constructions was primarily the impact of the paradigm of numerals from 5 upwards. The genitive form of the noun was also to a large extent determined by the order in which the noun was pushed before the numeral. In the Eastern borderland it was also the influence of Eastern Slavic languages that contributed to the discussed phenomenon — it is also the actual reason for preservation of this construction until today in the Eastern areas.

<title>Dwudziestolecie międzywojenne w periodyzacji historycznojęzykowej — wizje i rewizje</title>

<description>Dwudziestolecie międzywojenne w periodyzacji historycznojęzykowej — wizje i rewizje
Woźniak, Ewa
The author tries to locate the interwar period in the context of language periodization. She presents two previous approaches: the one of Z. Klemensiewicz, S. Urbańczyk and S. Dubisz who included the years 1918–1939 into Modern Polish period and the other of A. Furdal, T. Smółkowa, and S. Borawski who considered the year 1918 as the beginning of the new epoch in the history of Polish language. The author’s proposition is to focus on the evaluation of Polish language in the years 1918–1939, instead of looking for a borderline between the Modern Polish period and contemporary one. The main reason for connecting the interwar period with the contemporary one and not with the Modern Polish period was the radical change in the use of language. The re-establishment of the Polish state triggered fast process of integration. It was the result of the state policy of language and development of mass communication.

<title>O układzie alfabetycznym w dawnych słownikach przekładowych</title>

<description>O układzie alfabetycznym w dawnych słownikach przekładowych
Lenartowicz-Zagrodna, Anna
Alphabetical order is one of the four ways to organize words in dictionaries. Throughout history it was changing — it was depending on the level of knowledge about the language and on the evolution of Polish lexicography. The major problem was the lack of Polish orthography, especially the notation of phons, which have no equivalents in Latin. The aim of the study is to investigate the evolution of the alphabetical system in the history of Polish lexicography and to indicate the problems faced by the authors from 16th to the 19th century.

<title>Obraz duchowieństwa w felietonach Aleksandra Świętochowskiego</title>
<link>http://hdl.handle.net/11089/21473</link>
<description>Obraz duchowieństwa w felietonach Aleksandra Świętochowskiego
Pietrzak, Magdalena
The aim of the article is to reconstruct the linguistic image of the Polish clergy on the basis of Aleksander Świętochowski’s feuilletons. This image is determined by the point of view of the speaker. In my analysis I have distinguished the following points of view: 1) the POV of a non-believer, 2) the POV of a positivist and an involved citizen, 3) the POV of a positivist and scientist. These perspectives are complementary and mutually determining. As a non-believer, the feuilletonist distances himself from the clergy. He views Church authorities through the prism of their decisions and his judgment is always negative. The feuilletonist also focuses on the behaviour of the clergy. He notices and denounces their immoral attitudes. A similar, negative image of the clergy is presented from the point of view of a positivist and an involved citizen. The representatives of the Church are depicted as intellectually backward religious fanatics. The priests who are open to science or are scientists themselves are perceived and judged in a positive light by the feuilletonist, who expresses his respect and admiration towards them. The same concerns the representatives of the clergy who actively contribute to the wellbeing of society. As regards language, the feuilletonist uses contrast and axiologically charged vocabulary, including religious and biblical expressions, which is both effective and persuasive. Furthermore, the suggestiveness of the images under discussion is enhanced by means irony and expressions with negative connotations.
