<title>The potentiometric study of Co(II) complexes with mercaptocarboxylic acids</title>
<link>http://hdl.handle.net/11089/15366</link>
<description>The potentiometric study of Co(II) complexes with mercaptocarboxylic acids
Masłowska, Joanna; Szmich, Józef
The interaction between Co(II) ions and thiolactic&#13;
acid TLA or thioglycolic acid TGA in aqueous 0.1 M NaClO₄&#13;
has been studied potentiometrically at 20°. The formation of complexes of the type Co(SRC00) and Co(SRC00)²⁻₂&#13;
(where R - CH₂ or CH₃CH) has been found. The stability&#13;
constants of these complexes have been determined as well&#13;
as the acid dissociation constants of TLA and TGA.&#13;
Thiolactic acid and thioglycolic acid, belong to a&#13;
physiologically important class of compounds. As they&#13;
behave as strong complexing agents, it seemed to be interesting to comparise the stabilities of Co(II) complexes&#13;
with these acids.
Praca została nadesłana na III polsko-radzieckie sympozjum&#13;
"Termodynamika i elektrochemia roztworów elektrolitów".

<title>Chromium(III) complexes with DL-methionine and L-cysteine</title>
<link>http://hdl.handle.net/11089/15360</link>
<description>Chromium(III) complexes with DL-methionine and L-cysteine
Masłowska, Joanna; Chruściński, Longin
Chromium(III) complexes with DL-methionine and L-cysteine have beon investigated by pH-metric and spectrophotometric methods. In both investigated systems, three&#13;
complexes of the composition H : L = 1 : 1; 1 : 2; 1 :&#13;
 3, have been found, stability constants for the resultant complexes have been determined by the method of&#13;
Bjerrum. Crystalline complexes with the investigated&#13;
ligands of the type: [Cr(Met)₃]. 2H₂O and Na[Cr(Cys)₂].&#13;
2H₂O were also obtained. The made combination of Cr(III)&#13;
with the investigated aminoacid and structures of the&#13;
complexes reported have been proposed on the basis of&#13;
their spectra. A method for precipitation pure complexes&#13;
from solutions has been devised using the ion-exchange&#13;
procese on the resin Sephadex A-25.
