<title>Językowa konceptualizacja czasu w tynieckim przekładzie Biblii</title>

<description>Językowa konceptualizacja czasu w tynieckim przekładzie Biblii
Szagun, Dorota
Linguistic conceptualization of time in Tyniec translation of the Bible&#13;
This article attempts to characterise various verbal connections with the word time&#13;
in Tyniec translation of the Bible. Expressions with the word time give ample material,&#13;
allowing for multi-linguistic analysis, it is more than 800 examples of the word time (684 in&#13;
the Old Testament and 160 in the New Testament), after taking account of other word units&#13;
associated with the determination of time, it is more than 4,000 word units.&#13;
Expressions with the word time in Polish edition of the Bible reflect the mind-set and&#13;
culture, manifested in the Polish language, of course, inextricably linked with the biblical&#13;
Semitic motivations. Time in the Bible is thus conceptualized as a measurable physical quantity,&#13;
synthesizing different units of measure: size, length, but also the weight (e.g. hard times),&#13;
a certain continuity of religious events focused on eternity and as a sacred cycle. The clearest&#13;
expression seems to be the right time, understood as a convenient, appropriate moment.

<title>Synonimy według Klementyny z Tańskich Hoffmanowej</title>

<description>Synonimy według Klementyny z Tańskich Hoffmanowej
Kozaryn, Dorota
Synonyms according to Klementyna Hoffman (née Tańska)&#13;
The paper deals with the way of describing by Klementyna Hoffman (née Tańska), living&#13;
1798-1845, who is known in the history of literature as an author of children’s and women’s&#13;
texts and a defender of national identity, the lexemes being regarded as synonyms by her.&#13;
The presented analyses show that Tańska regarded as synonyms not only lexemes in the&#13;
modern linguistic sense, and described not only lexemes but also concepts. The construction&#13;
of particular descriptions was characteristic of Hoffman and had a lot of features in&#13;
common with the 19th-century attempts of the Polish synonymists. This is demonstrated by&#13;
a comparison of the way of describing synonyms by Klementyna Hoffman and Bp. Adam&#13;
S. Krasiński. This that distinguished the activity of Tańska in this respect was the use&#13;
of moralistic admonishments.

<description>Autorytet osoby i funkcji starszego cechu a obyczaj komunikatywny w instytucji cechowej w świetle protokołów piwowarów krakowskich (z lat 1729-1760)
Pałucka-Czerniak, Iwona
Authority and function of the head of guild and custom communicative&#13;
in the light of Cracow’s brewers protocols (from the years 1729-1760)&#13;
This article presents the concept of authority exploited in historical studies of language.&#13;
It shows a clash between the authority of the head of a corporation and the language&#13;
custom of a speech community fixed in guild protocols. The influence of the older guild&#13;
is reflected in the choice of the writer, in giving orders to write down contents of extreme&#13;
relevance as well as in the theme of unusual records. The stylistic, linguistic and genre&#13;
shape of records depend on the writer, who adapts it to the existing patterns of text. The&#13;
relationship between the writer and the head of a guild sometimes manifests itself in the&#13;
records of panegyric character. The situation changes when former writers become the&#13;
head of guild, which will be discussed in the next publication.

The development of national community&#13;
in the light of the 16th century historiographic writing. Reconnaissance&#13;
The paper constitutes an element of a large scale project whose aim consists in the reconstruction&#13;
of the identity discourse of the First Republic of Poland in historiographic&#13;
writing. The sketch presents selected linguistic and extra-linguistic mechanism used in&#13;
historiography for the purpose of developing national community (at that time understood&#13;
as the nation of the gentry) and strengthening its internal bonds. The mechanisms used&#13;
to be referred to as cognitive or visual propaganda. The goal of the paper is achieved by&#13;
means of the presentation of the linguistic means used for the purpose of shaping historical&#13;
consciousness as the foundation of national community or expressions referring&#13;
to the basic concepts related to the national community, i.e. names of the country (kingdom,&#13;
crown, homeland, state, Poland, republic, the Sarmatia), citizens (Polanie, Polacy, Lechy, Lachy,&#13;
the Sarmatians) and finally – indication of the role of the graphic code. The source documentation&#13;
includes 16th century Polish language catalogues of monarchs treated as a tool&#13;
of social communication and the strategic element of state policy.
