Ośmowa, Markianna N.
The article deals with problems connected with establishment of
joint ventures. Numerous such ventures wero set up with participation
of capital from the capitalist states. These companies are
located in Bulgaria and Hungary. Apart from them, there also operate
companies being join4 ventures founded by the socialist cou n -
tries alone. Examples of such cooperation may be found in Poland
and the Soviet Union. Companies organized along principles of
joint ventures aim primarily at fusion of partners' financial and
material resources. Joint research and development activity makes
it possible to raise the level of production through its specialization
and cooperation. The cooperation of this type is considered
to be the highest form of intensification of economic integration
processes among the CMEA countries adopted so far.

Reforma w handlu zagranicznym 1982-1986. Próba oceny

Replacement of effectiveness growth as a goal of the reform in
foreign trade by maximization of hard currency revenues made it necessary
to effect corresponding changes in applied instruments.
As a result, there were eliminated effectiveness-promoting solutions envisaged by the reform concept, which were replaced by the
para-command system sometimes departing quite significantly from
provisions contained in the main legal acts concerning the reform'.
And although these departures were to be in force only in the
transition period, their application is prolonged in practice, which
hampers implementation of the strategy and undermines faith in an
irreversible character of the reform. Deformation of the currency
exchange rate-price mechanism had particularly farreaching consequences. Without basing this mechanism on rules contained in
the concept of the reform, its further development is an illusion.

The European CMEA countries pose before their trade exchange
in the field of textiles and garments a task to supply net hard
currency funds in trade with the Soviet Union and highly-industrialized
Western countries. This factor predetermines, to a large
degree, the socondary function performed by trade as a source of
enriching the supply of domestic markets. Increase of / trade exchange
among the LMtA countries above the balance indications is
restricted by existing barriers. A major barrier to trade increase
is the system of cooperation based on coordination of economic
Pi ans, which was developed still in the fifties. In order to
increase more substantially trade in textiles arid garments among
the CMEA countries it is necessary to introduce new forms of cooperation.
